Our Church theme for this year came from Hebrews 12 - “Looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith”. As we have walked together through another year we have grown more like Christ and developed a deeper love for His people by keeping our eyes fixed upon our Lord.
In March we were blessed to have a week long “Prayer Revival” with Evangelist Benny Beckum. We also hosted a four day Revival meeting with Evangelist Tim Booth in May. In the Spring we had thirteen weeks of Sunday School lessons on astronomy. These lessons corresponded with our campaign – “The Heaven’s Declare the Glory of God” which provided an introduction to the fascinating study of God’s creating power.
Summer activities included our annual Church picnic, various youth camps, and youth conference. Evangelist Jim Walker and his family conducted another great Bible School Program while Pastor Chad Delhotal conducted a Teen Bible School. Our teen boys went on a week long camping and canoeing trip to the Current River in Missouri. This was the first of what we hope to make an annual event.
Brother Wayne Mund was here to preach our missions conference in October. Our faith promise commitment for 2013 increased to $26,000. We did reach our faith promise commitment of $24,000 this year. Our “Giving Thanks Sunday” in November proved to be another great day for our church. We hosted 9 different missionaries / evangelists on various Sunday evenings throughout the year.
Overall the ministries of our Church have gone well throughout the year. I am praying that this year, we will be more committed to the winning of lost souls in our community. Each year, our world, country, and community falls deeper into sin and closer to the judgment of God. We must realize the urgency of the hour and stay on our knees before God, and witnessing for our soon coming Savior.
I am expecting another great year of serving the Lord with the faithful members of First Baptist Church. Our theme this year is “In Christ”. More than anything else, let’s be sure to stay faithful in Christ.
Love,
Pastor Rocky Fritz
